Over a week has passed since an update. So here’s an update.
My first week at Apple has been great. The people are cool, the customers are better since they don’t bitch about not having their size, and it’s fun talking to people about something that you enjoy. I do have some complaints. They have me in the back most of the time. Back there, you don’t really get to talk with customers, but it’s cool for those days where you kind of don’t feel like talking to anyone.
I had ANOTHER interview yesterday. This time with Paker Hannifin. I think it went well. Definitely easier than other interviews I’ve had. They were more interested in me as a person, instead of what I know or what I did in school. My interviewer even complimented me as having “an outgoing personality”, which was cool. I take pride in being an atypical engineer. They gave me a tour of the place and then sent me home with some literature. I would love to get the position since it’s in Irvine. I stressed that in the interview, so I hope they’ll remember that when looking through all the applicants.
The new blink 182 album came out last week. I like it. They’re finally growing up. Most of the songs are still about girls and relationships, but there are other songs where the content is more mature. Their sound also isn’t typical pop-punk. I like it better than “Take Off Your Pants….”
And finally, this website is now 2 years old. It doesn’t sound like a long time, but looking through the archives, it’s a lot of posts. Here’s to many more posts and redesigns.

I updated my current desktop page. This time it’s an actual picture of the top of my desk. My PC is still broken and I hooked up my 12″ to my monitor. I don’t know why I didn’t do this earlier. It feels like having an Apple desktop. I even hooked up my wireless keyboard and mouse. Now I just need a broadband connection!
I had my first day at the Apple store. It’s pretty much the same type of stuff I did at the Bookstore. Except the products that I stock and label are much cooler. We’re expecting a big shipment tomorrow. I wonder what it could be.
I was surprised when Rochelle called to say that she would be in San Diego today. She was coming down with her cousin Oliver and that I would be having dinner with them tonight. I love it when someone makes plans for me. =P
I met up with them at Bandar, a Persian restaurant in downtown San Diego. I’ve never really had Persian food, and after having it tonight, I would go back. I had chicken shish kebob, but it’s not what you think. It’s not on a stick, but it’s basically chicken and grilled vegetables with rice. But it’s marinated with Persian stuff and grilled and just tastes damn good.
Tomorrow is my first day “working” in about 5 months. I’m kind of excited. Tomorrow, I become a fruit salesman.

Yesterday, I had an interview with the Apple Store. Some people might wonder why I’m applying for another retail job. First of all, I think it would be cool to sell Apples. And second, it would be nice to have a source of income while I continue to search for full time employment. I felt the interview went well. She had us do a role play where she was a customer who was looking at the iPods. She asked me questions like “What does it do?”, “What’s an mp3?” and “Why is it so expensive?” I think she was impressed with how I was able to translate geek speak into layman’s terms. At least I thought she was impressed. The lengthy part of the application process would be the background check. So we’ll see in a couple weeks if I get to say that I work for Apple.
I also decided to tweak the layout of the site. I basically switched the two columns and changed them from static to fluid columns (resize your browser window). I also got tired of the dashed borders. I still need to add some text styling to the headers but I’ll get to those soon enough.
